SF Opera Bohème Out of the Box Performance

San Francisco Opera is bringing Bohème Out of the Box to Bishop Ranch, in partnership with the City of San Ramon. This free, one-hour adaptation of Puccini’s La Bohème offers a rare opportunity to experience world-class opera outside the traditional theater. Performed by San Francisco Opera’s guest artists and Adler Fellows on a mobile opera stage, the production is sung in Italian with live English translations accessible on smartphones.

Set in the square at City Center Bishop Ranch, this midday performance provides a unique cultural interlude—perfect for a lunch break or an afternoon reset. Families with young children are invited to arrive early at 12pm for a First Act Workshop, a free, interactive session introducing young audiences to the music and story of La Bohème.

Attendees can enjoy the performance from the shaded lawn with a picnic blanket or take advantage of provided seating (outside chairs not permitted). Ample parking is available, and guests are encouraged to explore the diverse dining options at City Center.
