Providing Synergy

Business: Synergy Corporate Housing

Founded: 1999

Number of employees: 52 employees (includes Bishop Ranch headquarters, offices in Santa Clara and Los Angeles, and distribution facilities in Union City)

More than heads in beds
Synergy Corporate Housing is a company that provides fully furnished and accessorized apartments primarily for Fortune 1000 companies. Most of the properties are in California, but Synergy also places clients throughout the United States and internationally.

Jack Jensky, one of the founding partners, says the company has been at Bishop Ranch for nearly four years. "We've discovered that we need more space and we're looking forward to growing with Bishop Ranch," says Jensky. "We just formed a new company, Synergy Lending, and we will be expanding our service offerings to our clients to include a Real Estate Sales and Leasing division."

Jensky, who grew up in Mountain View, has high praise for the Bay Area. "I lived in San Diego for a number of years," he says. "The Bay Area is definitely faster paced and more technology driven. This area is also a great place to raise a family. When I'm not working, I like to spend time with them and play golf; I also play softball once in a while."

Location, quality, safety
When he was looking for new office space, Jensky says the quality of the space and the location were key considerations. "The proximity to our employees is important, and the transportation services at Bishop Ranch are phenomenal," says Jensky. "It's a perk that we can offer them.

"In addition, we need a safe environment. We have employees here after hours because we operate from 7:30 a.m. to midnight, seven days a week. Security here is very, very good. The facilities are also great for our technical needs—vendors find the conditions in our space easy to work with, and the space can grow with our servers, phone systems, and so on.

"We also need a responsive and efficient property manager, which we have. And an add-on is the amenities such as the cafeteria and transportation. The recreation facilities are great, too, with walking trails and a park nearby. These are nice things to have when trying to recruit and retain personnel."

Part of a network
Jensky sees a number of benefits to having a business at Bishop Ranch. "Location is one," he says. "The quality of office space is another—it's a nice place to bring personnel and clients, and the greeting area is top-notch. The flexible lease terms are also important.

"We've networked here, too, and we work with a few vendors in Bishop Ranch. Our property manager is putting together a business-to-business networking group, which is slated to start in February. We can reach out to people and tell them what we do. It's fantastic that the property management team is facilitating it."
