Got Food? Please Donate
Contra Costa and Solano Food Bank
December 3–December 21
Look for the red barrels in your building’s lobby or courtyard.
The Contra Costa and Solano Food Bank needs your help to bring a brighter holiday season to those in need. Here’s how you can make a difference.
From December 3 through December 21, deposit your food donations in the red barrels located in your office building’s lobby or courtyard. Note: The most wanted food items are canned meat and fish, peanut butter, iron-rich cereal, fruit juice, dry beans, canned vegetables, tomato products, enriched rice, powdered milk and canned, ready-to-eat meals. (No glass items, please.)
The Buy a Bag Program is another way to give at your office for the holidays. You can make a donation by purchasing colorful paper Christmas stockings. Each $1 in donations enables the Food Bank to distribute $6 worth of food.
The Food Bank serves over 82,000 people in Solano and Contra Costa counties each month, and distributes 8 million pounds of food each year, but couldn’t accomplish a thing without community support. Please take advantage of these opportunities to do a good turn, and feel good yourself while you’re at it.
For more details on the Food Bank’s programs, e-mail Kathy Gleason at kgleason@foodbankcss.org. Thank for your support.
